Symptoms of PPH

The symptoms of PPH can start off very mild and gradually progress in severity. Often, PPH goes undetected for quite some times because many of the following symptoms are confused with health problems that result from being overweight. The following are the most common symptoms for pulmonary hypertension, although individuals typically do not experience the same combination of symptoms. These may include:
  • Extreme Fatigue
  • Difficulty in breathing
  • Dizziness, fainting, and weakness
  • Fainting spells
  • Bluish lips and skin
  • Chest pain
  • Racing pulse
  • Palpitations (strong throbbing sensations)
  • Ankle and leg swelling

As PPH reaches the later stages, symptoms become more severe and may also include:

  • Total inability to carry out day-to-day tasks
  • Symptoms are present even while resting
  • Victim is bedridden
  • Heart failure
